Personas mayores y agendas de amigabilidad en diferentes contextos territoriales: Identificación de desafíos en clave de participación social

La estrategia de Ciudades y Comunidades Amigables con las Personas Mayores (CCAPM) propuesta por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) ha adquirido relevancia mundial en los últimos años en las agendas políticas para el desarrollo de programas de envejecimiento inclusivos. Aunque su enfoque pone en el centro la promoción de la participación social de las personas mayores, mediante el ejercicio de la ciudadanía, las políticas de amigabilidad presentan una serie de desafíos. El objetivo de este estudio es mejorar la comprensión de los factores de éxito y de las barreras, vinculados a la participación social, en la implementación de iniciativas amigables. Utilizando una metodología cualitativa, se analizaron proyectos de amigabilidad desde diferentes ángulos, siguiendo criterios teóricos y prácticos, territorios y trayectoria en amigabilidad. Desde un primer ángulo se analizan teóricamente las experiencias en Manchester y Quebec, pioneros en proyectos de amigabilidad. Un segundo ángulo presenta tres programas innovadores en CCAPM en España, dos en el País Vasco, en contextos urbanos y rurales, y uno en la ciudad de Barcelona. En el tercer ángulo, se traza un diálogo entre los resultados obtenidos de los análisis anteriores y el estudio de las acciones de cuatro ayuntamientos de Andalucía adscritos al proyecto de CCAPM.
